WELCOME

“If only we can wait, the patient arrives at understanding creatively and with immense joy […] The principle is that it is the patient and only the patient who has the answers.”

—D.W. Winnicott

You may be in a dead-end and looking for a way out. Perhaps you are suffering from anxiety to a degree that you feel it is impossible for you to achieve your aspirations. Perhaps you are looking for a new way of being in the world that is more in tune with your unique history and experience.

The talking cure provides an exceptional space for you to say anything that comes to mind, to explore thoughts and emotions that you previously have not been able to voice even to yourself. As a psychoanalyst who provides individual psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, a more intensive form of psychotherapeutic work, I accompany and witness you in this journey towards the unknown.

I welcome Turkish speakers and all immigrants who find themselves caught in the in-between. As a scholar, I have been researching and writing on the relationship between psychoanalysis and social theory for more than two decades. In my clinical practice, my aim is to engage each individual’s singular experience.

I offer online and in-person sessions in a midtown office.
